Jeremy Bates

Jeremy Bates is a Vice President of Business Development, M&A at Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, now the
largest private fully integrated fire, life safety and security company in the U.S. He is also the former
president and co-owner of Bates Security and Sonitrol of Lexington, where together with his team,
Jeremy grew Bates Security into one of the leading security companies in the nation – ranked #32
on the SDM #100 with five locations across Kentucky and Florida. Under Jeremy’s leadership, Bates
Security earned numerous accolades including SDM Dealer of the Year, multiple SAMMY Awards,
and SSI’s Installer of the Year for Small to Mid-Size Companies twice over. It was recognized as one of
Kentucky’s Best Places to Work and Lexington, Kentucky’s Small Business of the Year. Bates Security
joined the Pye-Barker family of companies in 2024. In addition to his work with Pye-Barker, Jeremy
currently serves as the Chair-Elect of the Electronic Security Association’s Board of Directors. He is a
past president of both the Kentucky Electronic Security Association and the Sonitrol National Dealers Association.
