Melissa Brinkman

Melissa Brinkman is CEO of Custom Alarm, a SDM 100 security and technology company in Rochester, Minnesota. Melissa leads a team of more than 70 dedicated employees who are customer service focused and leverage technology to find solutions for their customers. Melissa earned her B.A. from University of Wisconsin-Stout and went on to have a successful career in the hospitality field before joining the family business in 1998, which her dad founded in 1968.  Her career at Custom Alarm began in sales and marketing and Melissa worked her way leading various departments before becoming CEO in 2014. She prides herself on actively volunteering and engaging in various organizations both in her local community as well as in the security industry, such as SPARK, a local children’s museum she helped start, and the Electronic Security Association, where she is a member of the board of directors. Melissa is very proud of her Custom Alarm team and their approach to taking care of customers, giving back to the community and supporting local businesses. She leads her team by creating a positive work environment and culture where employees can thrive and do their best, which has been a key factor to the company’s success through the years.
