Patrick Egan has served in the security industry for more than 40 years, starting with the founding of his first company, Commonwealth Security, in 1971. Commonwealth grew to be the largest independent security installer in the region, and was named the “Dealer of the Year” by SDM Magazine in 1982. His dedication to helping others is evident by his impressive business and volunteer credentials. As a founding member of the Pennsylvania Burglar and Fire Alarm Association, the Security Network of America, and a past president of the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (now known as the Electronic Security Association), Mr. Egan has played a key role in shaping the industry. During his tenure as President of the NBFAA, Mr. Egan led the industry lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill, all while continuing to rapidly expand his own business and volunteer as the Chief for his local Fire Department. Today, Mr. Egan continues to make industry news. As the owner of Select Security, Select Fire Protection, Security Partners, and Access Telecommunications, he creates industry trends by using his experience to generate new markets and synergies that benefit his businesses, team members, and, ultimately, his customers. He is always proud to share his industry experience and knowledge with others, and is continually requested to be a featured speaker at national and international events.
