Rich Perry has been active in the electronic security industry as an investor and operator for more than 30 years, and is founder and principal at Perry Companies, Inc., a family office focusing on service- oriented recurring revenue businesses. Rich is currently CEO and President of Ackerman Security Systems, the nation’s 14th largest (based on recurring monthly revenue) electronic security firm. Ackerman is a leader in the rapidly expanding security/smart home space, as well as the commercial systems integration business, focusing on national accounts. In 2000, Rich founded Security Networks and served as its CEO and President until the sale of the company in August 2013. Under his leadership, Security Networks became one of the fastest-growing electronic security firms in the U.S. and, in 2012, it was ranked #14 in recurring revenue size nationally by SDM Magazine. Before founding Security Networks, Rich was a principal at SLP Capital, a leading specialty finance company serving the North American security alarm industry, having completed over $400 million in financings. In 1991, Rich founded Digital Detection Systems and formed a strategic alliance with Sears, Roebuck & Co., quickly becoming Sears’ largest and most successful security licensee in the U.S. In addition, he is President and co- founder of NOPE Taskforce, Inc., a nonprofit organization. Rich holds B.S. and M.S. degrees, both from Pennsylvania State University.
